After our last post on the 5th Congressional District delegates, I just received a call from the Erie County GOP. When asked about the 3rd Congressional District, which is represented by Mike Kelly, they told me they only had information on Louis Aliota and Robert Yates which agrees with the list shown below. This is from a survey done by the Trib Live.
3rd District Republican Delegate Candidates
(UPDATED 4/26/2016 @7AM)
- Louis J. Aliota: Leaning Trump.
- Michael T. Baker: Uncommitted.
- Brian L. Ellis: Whoever wins his district, on at least the first convention ballot.
- Philip S. English: Uncommitted. Will “consult the results in my district” and be “strongly inclined to support the candidate most capable of winning the November election.”
- Jim Keffalas: Choice of Trump campaign as noted on Trump PA website
- Gale Measel: Whoever wins his district. Beyond that, describes himself as an “ABC” delegate candidate — “anyone but Clinton.”
- Michele Mustello: Uncommitted. Thinks “It is important the Pennsylvania delegation cast our votes together.”
- Carol Lynne Ryan: Choice of Trump campaign as noted on Trump PA website
- Daniel P. Vete: Choice of Trump campaign as noted on Trump PA website
- Robert J. Yates: Choice of Cruz campaign as noted on Cruz delegate list
Update: This article has been updated to reflect additional information supplied by the delegate candidate, Jim Keffalas. Thanks, Jim.
There is no information for Daryl Metcalfe.
Well, Erie County, there you have it, all of the information we could find on the Republican convention delegates from the 3rd and 5th congressional districts. Please take note before casting your vote.
Jim Lloyd says
Thanks for listing who delegates will support. This information needs distributed to mass media. You must know who delates support before you vote for them. Not declaring your voting intensions should be a no vote for them. That is being dishonest and they should be banned from future delegation consideration for life.
Kim says
I agree fully.
Kelly says
Absolutely
Jim Keffalas says
I am a Republican candidate for delegate in the 3rd Congressional District. My name was listed in this article as no information. I fully support Mr. Trump and have pledged my vote at each round of votes at the convention. Jim Keffalas, Butler, PA.
Kim says
You then sir will not get my vote. I find Mr Trump unacceptable and unsuited for this high office.
. says
the fact is that perception is reality. if trump is LEADING going into the convention (& he’s currently leading in western PA polls) & if the delegates hand-it-over to cruz, then it will be perceived as a STOLEN convention (perception is reality). if that happens, then the already fired-up trump supporters will most likely stay home in november & we will LOSE WITH CRUZ. romney & mccain were good conservatives just like cruz, but that’s not enough to defeat the Democrats b/c there’s another player in the game: the LIBERAL MEDIA. whether u like it or not, only a “celeb” like Trump can beat hillary in november… & don’t believe the liberal media polls that say that Trump can’t beat Hillary … he’s getting swing votes & an untapped republican voting base. he’s our best chance, whether u want to admit it or not…
Daniel Toy says
You have my vote and my wife’s vote. Thanks for standing against the establishment.
Jim Gibson says
Please reconsider. Trump does not represent the values of a majority of the Republican Party. What most do not see is that there is really no practical difference between Trump and Clinton. I ask that you support Ted Cruz.
Paul Crowe says
On the other hand, Jim, and this applies to Kim commenting above as well, if you support Ted Cruz, vote for the delegates that support him and let others vote for the delegates that support Donald Trump or John Kasich if that is their choice. That way, the voters get to decide which candidate is the choice of Republicans. No need to try changing a delegate’s mind. Just make up your own mind and vote accordingly.
I applaud Mr, Keffalas for making his preference known. This process of choosing delegates where voters have little information to work with is poorly designed and seems to detach voting from outcomes. Democrat delegate candidates plainly state their candidate of choice and it’s clearly indicated on the ballot, Republicans should do the same
And lastly, all delegates should support the winner of the popular vote in their district on the first ballot, and if there is a second ballot necessary, then they can vote their preference which should be made clear before the election.
Nick Lewis says
Thank you Mr. Keffalaus for your disclosure and honesty that shows true integrity. We don’t need another attorney or Demarcate as President and Leader we need an experienced businessman. I agree with Jim Lloyd by not declaring your voting intentions should be a no vote for them. It is dishonest and they should be banned from future delegations consideration for life. Two month a local man came door trying to have me sign a pledge for Cruz, is that an unknown delegate? I do not agree with Pennsylvania delegate system.. I should be one vote per individual.
Jason says
Messaged Yates and he is supporting Cruz. Baker and Metcalfe might be good choices as well
AMC says
I will vote Trump all the way. Look Obama did not represent the values of a majority but he got still got elected. How can we do worse then Obama. Take a chance with Trump he just says what most people are afraid to say.
Here’s to MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!

i agree that trump is our best chance at defeating the dems this november. most of my friends & family believe the same thing (& live in butler county). i’m emailing them to let them know that you’re in agreement so that they’ll vote for you. thank you for your honesty mr keffalas…i wish more delegates would be forthcoming with their voting intentions !
Ron says
Anyone that supports DONALD TRUMP has my vote!
. says
right on ron !!! 🙂
Theresa Cattron says
We are on the Trump Train for change from smoke filled room politics as usual! Thank you Mr. Keffalas! The team of Mustello, Yates, and English think they know best to represent us at the convention–the days of letting someone represent me at a convention has ended with the days of horses and buggies. In this day of information for everyone, we should be able to vote for the candidate of our choice and it should count! The way PA chooses delegates is outdated and should be changed!

Trump is the only anti-NWO (New World Order tinyurl.com/NWOexplained) candidate. He is the only one standing in the way of handing the Sovereignty of the country over to world government.

if your candidate does not win the party’s nomination, staying home is NOT the answer. Only one person, – YOU, knows your choice. however if you ‘write-in’ your choice, everyone will know that you don’t support the party’s nominee. it’s easy to be a quitter, if you don’t get your way.
